Tig came to us from Virginia, he was my pick of the litter out of his mother (and former dog owned here) "Jolie" and the sire of the litter was "Dash". Both are owned by Jo Satterfield of Lilac Hills Shelties in DeWitt, VA, her website link is in our breeder section of the link page.



Tigger is a sweet heart and super smart. Tigs trick list continues to grow.  By the time he was 10 weeks old, he already knew to potty *out*side, sit, down, wait, come, "ok" (for a release word), shake, high five, wave hello, play dead, and roll over. The name came to be (which was a VERY hard decision to make) because he was playing in the living room with Belle and he was bouncing around on his hind feet - going forwards, backwards and side to side. My husband jokingly mentioned Tigger and he looked straight at Derrick, he had never responded to any name mentioned before. So, the name stuck :) We absolutely adore his bone and structure and his expression and personality is really what sold him to us. TiggerRoo has a very nice long tail for a sable with a wonderful set, his hocks are straight and secure, he has a very nice bite and expression.  Tig does need to learn how to "use" his ears a bit more and get the premolars he was missing as a puppy.  The only thing I have found this boy is leery of is trains, which is not so bad at all :) He rides wonderfully in a car, not a peep out of him and on the plane ride home, he slept the whole way. In fact, his brother, "Cole" came back with us. Cole is now living in Washington DC. All of the puppies in this litter seem to excell in intelligence and instinct for herding.

SHEEP HERDING PHOTOS
 Taken June 30th, 2007 at his first Herding Lesson with Kelly Malone of Ohio. He did remarkebly well as this was his second exposure to sheep.


He was able to work in both directions, follow my (and the instructor's) cues, and do the call off for a down or sit. These sheep were Cheviot crosses.


Tigger at 8 wks to 16wks

Tigger's growth has stopped. He appears to be barely over 16" and we are hoping with a bit more time, his shoulders will drop back. We hope to do a bit of obedience, agility, therapy dog work and herding with this guy. But, of course, first and foremost our dogs are members of the family and loved all the same whether or not they are competing :)
